General English
We follow the CEFR language levels (A1 - C2) Below is an example course outline for A2.1 (Pre-Intermediate Level).
Course Title: General English (CEFR Level A2.1) - 12 weeks (3-4 hours per week)
Overview: Develop basic English communication skills, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, and reading. Writing skills will be reinforced through homework assignments.
Module 1: Expanding Grammar and Vocabulary
- Objective: Enhance understanding of basic sentence structures and vocabulary.
- Topics Covered:
- Grammar: Present continuous tense, past simple tense, question forms.
- Vocabulary: Daily routines, food and drink, hobbies.
- Listening: Comprehending short, clear messages and announcements.
- Speaking: Participating in simple conversations on familiar topics.
- Reading: Understanding short, simple texts and personal letters.
- Homework: Writing short descriptions and personal letters (if applicable).
Module 2: Practical Communication
- Objective: Improve communication skills for everyday interactions.
- Topics Covered:
- Grammar: Future tenses, modals (can, could, should), comparatives and superlatives.
- Vocabulary: Travel, work, and education-related terms.
- Listening: Following main points in radio or TV programs on current affairs.
- Speaking: Expressing opinions and discussing plans.
- Reading: Understanding factual texts on subjects of personal interest.
- Homework: Writing essays and reports on familiar topics (if applicable).
Module 3: Interactive Learning
- Objective: Engage in interactive and practical English use.
